Vegas is a man used to overcoming challenges. The 27 year old Venezuelan picked up the game by playing with a broomstick and a rock. He eventually began playing at a nine-hole course near his home built for oil-camp employees. He turned professional in 2008 and started playing on the Nationwide Tour in 2009. In January 2011, he beat veteran Bill Haas and Gary Woodland to win the Bob Hope Classic and is respected as the first PGA TOUR rookie to lead the FedEx Cup standings.
